Heat health alerts extended into next week during fourth summer heatwave

After the fourth heat wave in summer, heat health warnings for most of the UK were extended to the next week.

The United Kingdom Health Safety Agency said that yellow warnings will now take place until 18:00 on Monday, August 18 in Monday, August 18 in Yorkshire and Humber, East and West Midlands, London, South East and South West and East.

Warnings mean that important effects on health and social care services are possible due to high temperatures, including a potential increase in the elderly or pre -existing health conditions.

The warnings would end at 6 o’clock on Wednesday.
