National Air Traffic Services (NATS) says: “As a result of a technical problem at the Nats Swanwick Air Traffic Control Center, we always limit the number of flying planes in the London control area to ensure our first priority, which is our first priority.

“We apologize for delays that may cause this.

“Our engineers work hard to solve the problem as quickly as possible and we work close to the airlines to help minimize disruption.

“At this stage, we cannot say how long the operations will take to normal. Please consult your airline about the status of your flight.”
