Lady Pamela Hicks, Queen’s former lady-in-waiting, dies aged 97

Lady Pamela, who told the story on her daughter India’s podcast in 2019, said: “When she (Elizabeth) walks into the room. I think, ‘Oh, poor girl, her father’s dead.’ So I go up to her, hug her and think, ‘Oh my God, that’s the Queen,’ and do a deep bow.”
