Home Secretary appoints Durai Kumar as DVAC in-charge following Election Commission reshuffle

Soon after the Election Commission of India (EC) on Saturday removed Director General of Police (DGP) Sandeep Mittal from the post of Director, Vigilance and Anti-Corruption (V&AC), Tamil Nadu Police Force (HoPF) and DGP Sandeep Rai Rathore issued an order asking Mr. Mittal to take “full additional charge as Director, V&AC until further orders”.

However, the order was reversed by Additional Chief Secretary K. Manivasan, who took charge as Tamil Nadu Home Minister, earlier in the day after the EC transferred incumbent Dheeraj Kumar. Instead, the Home Minister ordered the appointment of IPS officer AT Durai Kumar as Director-in-charge of V&AC until a regular appointment order is issued.
