Rubio says both Russia and Ukraine ‘have to make concessions’ for peace deal | Trump administration

In a series of interviews on Sunday, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said that “both sides would have to compromise on the war that exploded when Russia occupied Ukraine in 2022.
“You cannot make a peace agreement unless both sides make concessions – this is a fact,” he said. “This is true in almost every negotiation. If not, it is only surrender. And no side will surrender. So both sides will have to make concessions.”
Rubio, Alaska, Russian President Vladimir Putin and US counterpart Donald Trump, the recent talks on the termination of the war, “Potential agreement areas have made progress – but there are some major dispute areas,” he said.
“We are still on a long road, Rübo Rubio added. “We are not on the abyss of a peace agreement. We are not on the edge of someone. But I think progress has been made.”
If his aggression against Ukraine continues, he refused to enter a certain agreement or disagreement or to summarize that Trump defined as “serious consequences for Russia.
“Finally, if there is no peace agreement, if the end of the war, the president was open – the results will be open,” Rubio said. “But we are trying to avoid it. And the way we try to avoid these consequences is a better result, that is, peace, the end of hostility.”
Rubio agreed that no agreement is possible without both sides, including Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. Rubio told ABC News, “You will not reach a cease -fire or peace agreement at a meeting where only one side is represented.” “Therefore, it is important to bring both leaders together – and this is the target here.”
Although Rubio explicitly demanded the White House, a ceasefire, as Trump has now preferred, a flat agreement agreement-confirmed that it would be difficult.
He said that the war lasted three and a half years ..
Rubio said, “You have two very settled sides and we have to continue to work and we will break it down,” he said.
Separately, at the meeting of the NBC in the press, Rubio said that a ceasefire did not “come out of the table ,, but he added:“ The best way to end this conflict is a complete peace agreement. ”
“Unfortunately, the Russians did not accept it right now.
“But ideal here, what we aim here is not a ceasefire,” he said. “Ultimately what we’re aiming for is an end to this.”
However, Rubio said a new Western sanction set on Russia will force Moscow to accept any agreement.
He also rejected that Trump had given Putin, an aggressive in the conflict, which is only an unfair place on the world stage, as critics claim.
“Putin is already on the world stage, Rub Rubio said in ABC News. “The man is doing a full -scale war in Ukraine.
“This does not mean that he is right about the war. This does not mean that he is right about the war. You will not end a war between Russia and Ukraine without dealing with Putin. This is just common sense. So people can say what they want.”
At the Press Conference of the NBC, the democratic US senator Chris Murphy from Connecticut directed Trump-Putin’s “a disaster” on Sunday.
“This was a shame for the United States, Mur said Murphy. “This was a failure. Putin took everything he wanted.”
Murphy said that Trump gave Putin “that photo oph ve and kalta to get rid of war crimes in front of the world”.
Murphy said, “War criminals are normally not invited to the United States,” Murphy said.
Secondly, Putin said he didn’t have to give up anything.
“President Trump said he wanted a ceasefire – it seems that the ceasefire was not seriously discussed, Mur Murphy added Murphy. “And then the third, there is no result.
“Trump said, ‘If I don’t shoot, Putin will pay a price.’
