Horror in UK seaside town as girls ‘raped on beach’ – manhunt launched | UK | News

Police have launched an urgent manhunt after two teenage girls were allegedly raped on the beach in a popular British seaside town. Officers were called to the South Beach Parade in Great Yarmouth, Norfolk, at 12.37pm on Saturday, May 16, following reports that two girls had been raped.
While the police came to the scene and investigated, the cordon was placed, which was later removed. A man in his 30s was arrested in Northamptonshire yesterday (17 May) on suspicion of rape and was taken to King’s Lynn Police Investigation Center where he remained for questioning.
A second suspect is currently at large and police said “significant efforts” were ongoing to identify and locate him.
He is described as a white man in his 30s or 40s with short black hair and a dark beard. He was wearing jeans and a dark green jacket with a white stripe on both sleeves.
Chief Inspector Nick Paling, Great Yarmouth area commander, said: “We recognize how shocking and distressing these incidents are for the victims, their families and the wider community.
“Specialist officers have been deployed to support both girls during this investigation.
“There will be an increased police presence in the area and officers will carry out assurance patrols. Please contact them if you have any concerns or information.”
Officers would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident or has relevant information that would assist the investigation.
