Hunt on for missing £1m EuroMillions winner who bought ticket last year
A EuroMillions lottery winner did not claim his £1million prize as organizers warned ticket buyers to search their wallets and coats for the missing ticket.
The ticket was purchased in Birmingham on 15 August 2025 and carries code VLPL 28287. The UK Millionaire Maker winner has until midnight on Wednesday 11 February to claim their prize.
This is one of the National Lottery’s seven undisclosed grand prizes; There are £14 million worth of Lotto and EuroMillions winnings yet to be claimed.
Andy Carter, senior winners adviser at Allwyn, which runs the National Lottery, urged potential ticket buyers to rummage through their homes and clothes, even if they were just passing through Birmingham that day.
He said there was a chance the winner would be “in or around Birmingham in the week before the draw on 15 August” and added “there may not even be a local winner”. Mr Carter urged people to tell friends to “check your pockets”.
If the prize is not claimed by the deadline, the prize money and any interest it generates will be used to help National Lottery-funded projects across the UK.
All National Lottery draws give winners 180 days to collect their prizes and they can contact the organization if they have any questions.

The biggest ever lottery win was awarded to a UK ticket holder who won the record EuroMillions jackpot of £195 million on 19 July 2022; this was the biggest National Lottery win of all time.
Joe and Jess Thwaite, from Gloucester, raised a record-breaking £184,262,899 with their Lucky Dip ticket for the draw on May 10, 2022.
At the time of their life-changing win, Joe was a communications sales engineer and Jess ran a hair salon with her sister.
Mr Thwaite, 49, woke up the next morning to an email telling him he had won.
“I looked it up and saw that we had won. I saw how much we had won and I didn’t know what to do. I couldn’t go back to sleep,” he said.
“I didn’t want to wake Jess, so I laid there for what seemed like forever. I spent some time looking for properties with no budget cap, which was a novelty!”
