I watched Sainsbury’s and Asda’s new Christmas TV adverts – 1 is easily the best | UK | News

It’s that time of year again when Christmas adverts come thick and fast. The much-anticipated adverts from supermarket giants Sainsbury’s and Asda are now out and there’s a clear winner for me.

Asda’s Christmas advert takes its crown with a familiar character, the Grinch. The ad features a catchy, familiar song and references the cost of living crisis.

For many people, advertising can be associated with the festive season, which is often very costly. But it still manages to maintain its cheerful festive cheer.

In this reworked version of the classic hit “Let it Snow,” the Grinch, representing a grumbling father fed up with the prices of everything, finally discovers the joys of the season.

This film, which will become a Christmas classic for many families, comes alongside the hit film The Grinch, which is celebrating 25 years of its release.

As for Sainsbury’s ad, it also features a popular and well-known figure: the BFG.

In the feel-good advert, the BFG teams up with new Sainsbury’s colleague Annie to revamp festive food with the new Taste the Difference Christmas range after the arrival of an unexpected hungry guest.

The ad captures the magic of a BFG-inspired Christmas with the introduction of a new festive advert.

A follow-up to last year’s successful and much-loved partnership, the latest installment is a true Christmas treat that sees the beloved BFG character team up with his new Sainsbury’s colleagues.

They set out to make sure every plate is full with the arrival of an unexpected guest, the Greedy Giant.

The advert is a heart-warming festive tale, but for me, Asda’s grin story is the hallmark of this year.

Asda said that, unlike traditional approaches to Christmas, the campaign builds on the supermarket’s ongoing strategy That’s Asda Price; this strategy was “built on offering low prices to hard-working families who demand even more value during the festive season.”
