Ilhan Omar was attacked by a man who told the Minnesota Congresswoman she ‘should resign’ before spraying her with an unknown liquid.
Omar, who represents Minneapolis in Congress, was speaking at the town hall for the first time since the shooting of Alex Pretti and addressed Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem.
“DHS Secretary Kristi Noem must resign or be removed from office,” Omar said to applause at the event.
As the applause died down, a man was seen running towards the podium where Omar was speaking and spraying him with the mysterious substance with a syringe-like device.
Omar eventually said something about resigning himself before being taken away by two security guards.
Omar appears to walk towards the man before he is dragged away and the woman mutters: ‘Damn!’
He then responds to the crowd’s inaudible question by saying ‘I don’t know’ and tells another member of his team that he needs napkins.
The Daily Mail has reached out to Rep. Omar’s spokesperson for comment.

This event was Omar’s first since the ICE killings of Alex Pretti and Renee Good in Minneapolis and the mass liberal protest movement in response to ICE’s presence in the city.
Following the clashes, House Democrats launched an investigation into Noem, while 140 members of the party co-sponsored the impeachment resolution.
Democrats backed Noem as a majority of the House delegation (145 of 213) is now a co-sponsor A bill to remove him.
