India-Africa ties signal “stability in a turbulent world”: Jaishankar

India’s relationship with Africa sends a message of “stability in a turbulent world”, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar said on Thursday, April 23, 2026. Speaking at the launch of the theme, website and logo of the upcoming 4th India-Africa Forum Summit (IAFS-IV), Mr. Jaishankar said India’s ties with Africa are based on the common struggle for liberation from colonial rule and highlighted development partnership and capacity building as key areas of cooperation between the two parties.
Presenting the India-Africa partnership as a process that will strengthen institutions and empower people, Mr. Jaishankar said, “As the world goes through complex geopolitical and geoeconomic challenges, our partnership assumes special significance. It will be a message of stability in a turbulent world, reliability in an uncertain world and solidarity in difficult times.” The Minister made the statements while launching the theme, logo and website of IAFS-IV, which will be held between 28-31 May. Heads of missions based in New Delhi and ambassadors of African countries attended the event. The third India-Africa Forum Summit was held in October 2015. The theme of the upcoming summit is ‘Enduring Partnership – Shared Vision’.
