President Murmu, PM Modi pay homage to Gandhi, Shastri on birth anniversary

Mayor Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid flower tributes to Mahatma Gandhi and former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri on his birth anniversary in his new Delhi on Thursday, October 2.

Prime Minister Modi said his government would follow Gandhi’s way to build an advanced India.

“Gandhi Jayanti showed respect for the extraordinary life of the beloved Bapu, whose ideals transform the course of the history of humanity. Courage and simplicity show how great changes could be.” PM Modi said Gandhi believes that he believes in the power of service and compassion as basic tools to strengthen people.

In addition, the anniversary of the birth of India’s second prime minister Lal Bahadur Shastri, which fell on October 2, 2025, respected.

He praised him as an extraordinary statesman who strengthened India, his integrity, humility and determination.

“Jai Jawan Jai Kisan ‘Call for the Clarion of Clarion fired a spirit of patriotism among our people. He continues to motivate us in an effort to build a strong and confident India,” Jai Jawan Jai Kisan said.

Pm Modi, who passionately introduced Swadeshi, said that the products made by the Indians would be a real tribute to Gandhi and Shastri.

Swadeshi added that it is a self -confident and developed India’s foundation.

This year, Mahatma Gandhi, who is remembered as the father of the nation because of the important role in India’s freedom struggle, points to the 156th anniversary of his birth.

Gandhi, who was born in Gujarat in 1869, is considered the most influential Indian in the worldwide period by shaping the country’s freedom movement with reality and nonviolence.

Shastri was born in 1904 in Uttar Pradesh, and after the death of Jawaharlal, he rose to become the Prime Minister of the country. India’s honesty and leadership gained universal praise as a short -term prime minister as the prime minister in which India fought Pakistan.
