Union Defense Minister Rajnath Singh will co-chair the third India-Indonesia Defense Ministers’ Dialogue with his Indonesian counterpart Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin in New Delhi on Thursday (November 27, 2025).

The Ministers are expected to exchange views on regional security and multilateral cooperation and explore ways to further deepen bilateral defense cooperation, the Ministry of Defense said.

Mr. Sjamsoeddin’s two-day visit to India on November 26-27 underlines the growing momentum in India-Indonesia defense ties and reflects mutual commitment to expand the strategic partnership. The visit follows the Indonesian President’s visit to India earlier this year.

India and Indonesia share deep-rooted cultural, historical and maritime ties and civilizational ties spanning thousands of years. In recent years, the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the two countries has been strengthened through frequent high-level engagements and enhanced cooperation at bilateral and multilateral levels, underpinned by India’s Act East policy.

The meeting is seen as an important follow-up to the major defense deal involving the BrahMos supersonic cruise missile and marks a significant step forward in India’s expanding defense export programme.
