Indigenous excellence honoured in NAIDOC’s 50th year

A special doctor who is the most disadvantageous and helping the legend of AFL is between a group of indigenous trailblazer, known for his achievements.
The winners of the annual national Naidoc awards were announced on Saturday with a ceremony in Perth before the Naidoc week celebrations throughout the country.
The awards recognize individual excellence and celebrate the power, culture and leadership of the first nations, and the 2025 edition points to the 50th anniversary of the Naidoc Week.
Western Australian Pratisian and dentist Daniel Hunt was honored as Naidoc year for his work in the health sector.
Jaru and Indjubarndi Man’s passion for helping those who face chronic illness and bad general health disproportionately saw that Derbarl Yerrigan Health Services, the largest Aboriginal Community Control Organization in WA, is the assistant medical manager.
2024 domestic doctors of the year were also known for his work on managing Australia’s syphilis epidemic.
Former AFL actor Michael Long was known for his lifetime award for lifelong service to his people and his country about speaking and fighting racism in sports for indigenous rights.

The trial committee was nominated more than 200 nominations celebrating the power, vision and heritage of new generation domestic leaders during this year’s Naidoc Week.
