Infopark Kochi seeks State govt. clarification on conversion from charitable society to company

Infopark Kochi is waiting for a statement from a philanthropist community to the state government about the transformation of a registered company within the scope of 2013 Companies Law.

The search for whether it will be recorded as a non -profit company or a non -profit company will be recorded. Although an official decision has not yet been announced, it is increasingly revealed that the government supports a non -profit organization under the 8th part of the Law of Companies.

Last month, the Government order, which approved the third stage of the expansion of the Infopark, also stated that Infopark’s change of statutes and transformation process to a company urgently. The new corporate structure will legally enable it to have such a large -scale commercial project, to develop and manage and enter the necessary contract agreements for the land pooling plan.

“As a non -profit entity, as a non -profit entity, the transformation of Infopark from a charitable society to a company comes with natural advantages. An important decrease in income tax is one of the main benefits. As a philanthropic society, the transition to a institutional structure will be reduced by approximately 25% to 42%, while the transition to a institutional structure will be reduced by approximately 25% to 29%.

In addition, being a company allows the Infopark to take potential joint initiatives and acquisitions in the future, because a philanthropic society is legally forbidden to hold shares in another organization. However, as a non -profit company, enrollment prevents the Infopark from accessing the capital market and starting a first public offering (public offering) that can significantly limit the ability to increase capital.

Cochin International Airport, a non -profit company, can attract investments from private investors and distribute profits to their shareholders as dividends. Sources are not limited to warranty rather than the stock, because a company registered in accordance with Chapter 8 cannot give stocks.

Last month, the Infopark and the Great Cochin Development Authority (GCDA) signed an agreement zaptı (MOU) to implement the project through the Black Pooling Model. The first -class ‘Integrated AI district’, which is foreseen as the Infopark Kochi’s III. The stage is expected to be completed by 2030. The district is recommended to be 300 acres and will be allocated for 100 acres of IT enterprises. The memorandum of the Memorandum of the Memorandum of GCDA will take the responsibility to determine the appropriate land for the project through a land pool.
