Armed police descended on a street in Toxteth, Liverpool, this afternoon, along with several other police vehicles. Merseyside Police have cordoned off Ritson Street by Lodge Lane and remain there along with several police vehicles.

The officers at the scene are believed to be extortionists. Liverpool Echo reports. A police incident manager said police confirmed they were responding to an “ongoing incident” but it was not yet clear what the incident was.
