Crystal Palace: Oliver Glasner feels ‘abandoned completely’ at Eagles

Glasner led Palace to their first major trophy by beating Manchester City in the FA Cup final last May, which also guaranteed them a place in this season’s Conference League.

However, Palace sold their talisman Eberechi Eze to Arsenal in the summer and although the Eagles have made a good start to the season by going unbeaten in their first 11 games in all competitions, they are winless in their last 10 games.

Glasner added: “If you’ve had your heart broken twice this season the day before a game, it was with Eze in the summer and now it’s with Guehi…

“What should I always tell the players? What should I tell them? And today I see their performance for 50, 60 minutes; going here with 12 players from the team was not easy because of all the circumstances.

“I look at the bench, I can’t react, there are only kids on the bench and this didn’t happen yesterday, it happened weeks ago. That’s why I’m really angry today.”

Asked if he was considering leaving this month rather than waiting until the end of the season, Glasner added: “No, never, never. I’ll go all the way with this group of players.”

“I have a lot of respect for their character. I see them get frustrated and I know how hard they work, I see how hard they fight in the end. “They never, ever stand a chance.

“I told the players we have to stick together, if we don’t get support we’re the ones who have to do it. There’s no one else, it’s just us, we’re the ones who have to play.”
