The tourist who died in a shark attack while her boyfriend was desperately trying to save her in Australia was seen for the first time.
Authorities in New South Wales have confirmed that the 25-year-old woman involved is Livia Muhlheim. Her partner, who desperately tried to save her during the ordeal, is currently in hospital and remains in critical condition. Emergency services rushed to the scene at around 6.30am after receiving distress calls that a young Swiss couple had been attacked while swimming at a beach famous for shark activity. Witnesses reported chaotic scenes as lifeguards and paramedics worked to stabilize the couple; He highlighted both the dangers in the area and the rapid efforts of authorities to manage this tragic and life-threatening situation.
The tragic incident unfolded in the early hours of Thursday morning when the young Swiss couple went for a dawn swim at Kylies Beach in Crowdy Bay, a coastline known for shark activity.
While they were in the water, a large bull shark suddenly and violently attacked. Emergency services were notified at around 6.30am, but despite their quick response, they arrived too late to save 25-year-old Livia Muhlheim, who died from injuries sustained in the sand.
Livia, an accomplished academic and former synchronized swimmer, was using a GoPro camera to capture footage of a nearby pod of dolphins when the shark struck.
