Facial Recognition Tied To Exam Eligibility

Hyderabad: The state government has approved linking facial recognition participation with exam fee payment and eligibility for student teachers in state DIETs and private D.El.Ed. and DPSE colleges from the academic year 2026-27.

The school education department conveyed the decision in a memo and issued a report on Saturday, asking officials and university principals to take action.

The government “granted permission” to use attendance data generated through the Facial Recognition Attendance System, the order said. The director of Government Examinations has been asked to proceed immediately in consultation with SCERT in Telangana.
