Israeli military boosts presence near Lebanon border, downplays imminent ground invasion

TEL AVIV – Israel is strengthening its military presence on the Lebanese border but has no immediate plans to launch a ground attack on its neighbor, Israeli military spokesman Lt. Col. Nadav Shoshani said on Monday.
“We have not expanded our presence on the ground in Lebanon,” he told an online news briefing.
Earlier, another Israeli military spokeswoman, Brigadier General Effie Defrin, told reporters that all options remained on the table when asked about the possibility of a ground attack on Lebanon after Hezbollah fired rockets at Israel.
