It’s the Democrats’ big day out! Clintons rub shoulders with Bushes as liberal moguls Oprah and Colbert descend on Obama library’s grand opening ceremony

It’s a big day for the Democratic Party, as four previous Presidents and their liberal celebrity friends descend on Chicago for the grand opening of Barack Obama’s library.
The 43rd president’s library hosted the inauguration ceremony Thursday morning at the massive Jackson Park building on the city’s south side, where Michelle Obama grew up and where the couple settled before entering the White House in 2009.
The campus, which officially opened its doors to the public on Friday, was packed with leading political figures and celebrities as a boatload of festivities began to celebrate the big day.
The Obamas, Bidens, Bushes and Clintons gathered for a group photo before the dedication ceremony.
One of the photos showed Michelle hugging former President George Bush as she showed off a box of Altoid mints, while former President Bill Clinton laughed behind them.
Former president and first lady Joe and Jill Biden were seen kissing on camera in a cheeky moment.
Michelle and Barack Obama’s daughters Malia and Sasha also came out to support their parents, waving and smiling at the crowd.
Distinguished names flocked to the event, including John Lennon and his wife Chrissy Teigen, former late-night talk show host Steven Colbert, Oprah Winfrey, Tom Hanks and his wife Rita Wilson, Tyler Perry, Steven Spielberg and former model Jill Vedder.

Before the ceremony, which started with Jennifer Hudson singing the national anthem, many guests wore sunglasses, shook hands and hugged each other.
Obama Foundation CEO Valerie Jarrett said President Donald Trump was not invited to the event because his focus was on hosting Obama supporters. NBC News.
Trump is a staunch critic of Obama; He frequently criticizes the former president for the way he handled things in the White House.
He added that he may visit the center in the future.
Jarrett, a long-time advisor to the Obamas, gave a speech reflecting his relationship with the couple and their families.
‘They were engaged to be married. Malia and Sasha were bright-eyed and just starting their careers.
“They didn’t know what path their lives would take, but they were both committed to a life of service,” he told the crowd.

Along with Hudson, many other singers are expected to perform at the star-studded ceremony, including her boyfriend Common, Christina Aguilera, Marc Anthony, John Legend, Bruce Springsteen, Tems, Stevie Wonder and others.
Pearl Jam’s frontman Eddie Vedder performed an original song called ‘Better Believe’, written specifically for the big event.
“President Obama was aware that I would be playing music with young musicians in the neighborhood, but when he heard that we were writing an original piece, a song just for the occasion, he said it might be too much work, and as always he was right,” Vedder said before his performance.
He added: ‘But it has been a fantastic piece of work and represents everything the center stands for inclusivity, access to resources, mentorship and opportunity. So we thank you for this opportunity.’

Obama Center project plans were made public in May 2017 and were initially projected to be completed by 2021.
But the COVID-19 pandemic led to delays in the expansion of the center’s original plans.
The campus itself sits on 19 acres and includes a public park, museum, library, ample green space, and an NBC regulation-size basketball court.
Approximately $850 million was spent on the construction of the center, making it the most expensive presidential library in US history.
