Trévoux explosion: Two children with others buried under rubble | World | News

Two children, aged three and five, lost their lives following a terrible explosion in an apartment building in France. According to local media reports, four more people were injured after the gas explosion, while others were trapped under the rubble. According to La Voix de L’Ain, emergency services were quickly dispatched to the scene in Trévoux after the explosion that occurred at around 17.30.
It is thought that the powerful explosion originated from the ground floor of a 4-storey building. Flying pieces of debris reportedly hit two nearby schools, breaking many windows. It was claimed that the enormous explosion was heard from five kilometers away.
Local authorities stated: “50 firefighters and 36 vehicles, as well as medical personnel, were mobilized to assist the victims. There was material damage and broken windows at two nearby schools, but school officials do not report any injuries.”
In the horrific images taken right after the big explosion, pieces of concrete can be seen scattered on the road. The police created a security zone and warned citizens to stay away from the area.
According to Linternaute, at least four people are currently being treated in emergency rooms, while two other people are reportedly trapped under the rubble.
It was stated that the front of the building partially collapsed due to the terrible explosion.
Residents, including children, were evacuated and taken to the emergency room. Shocking images reveal pieces of wreckage.
Citizens living on the ground watched the incident in astonishment. While firefighters helped the injured after the explosion, the police were also present at the scene.
Gas services were subsequently activated, but an official reason has not yet been announced by the authorities.
A resident living in the area where the explosion occurred told the press: “Fire crews and the helicopter arrived at the scene very quickly. The explosion was huge. It was like the beginning of a war, like a bomb.”
After the explosion, which was thought to be caused by a gas leak, local authorities implemented an emergency plan.
In 2023, five people were injured in a huge explosion in an apartment in the north of Paris. More than 100 firefighters attended the scene on Rue du Nord as smoke filled the air.
