As many as 54 people were injured in a powerful explosion that occurred in the mosque of a school complex in Jakarta, the capital of Indonesia, on the afternoon of Friday, November 7. The explosion occurred in the Kelapa Gading district of North Jakarta, prompting an immediate security response.

Municipal police chief Asep Edi Suheri confirmed the incident at a televised press conference and said police were actively investigating the cause of the explosion at the scene.
