Jasprit Bumrah Remains Top Bowler As Mohammed Siraj, Kuldeep Yadav Rise

Dubai: Indian bowlers Mohammed Siraj and Kuldeep Yadav rose in the latest ICC Men’s Test Player Rankings, while their team-mate Jasprit Bumrah remained at the top after their outstanding performance against the West Indies in the Ahmedabad Test. India cruised to an impressive innings and 140-run victory in three days at the Narendra Modi Stadium to provide a major boost to their ICC World Test Championship campaign, and it was a group of experienced stars who paved the way during the victory. Right-arm pacer Mohammed Siraj claimed seven wickets in two innings and was duly rewarded in the updated rankings for Test bowlers, moving up three places to 12th overall and achieving a career-best ranking in the process. While his teammate Jasprit Bumrah maintains a healthy lead as the No. 1 Test bowler following three wickets in the same match against the West Indies, left-arm spinner Kuldeep Yadav has jumped seven places to 21st position after four scalps in Ahmedabad. It’s a similar story in the final rankings for Test batsmen; Experienced all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja set a new career high, gaining six places to move up to 25th overall after his unbeaten century in the first Test against the West Indies.
Right-hander KL Rahul also scored a century in this competition, gaining four places to move into 35th place overall in the list of Test batsmen; England’s veteran Joe Root still holds a significant lead at the top of this category. Jadeja also increases his advantage at the top of the list among Test all-rounders; His Indian teammate Washington Sundar has gained four places to 11th overall, almost joining his more experienced teammate in the top 10.
There have been many changes near the top of the latest T20I rankings this week following the conclusion of the series between trans-Tasman rivals New Zealand and Australia. Australian skipper Mitch Marsh has been in superb form throughout this series, with the Aussies winning 2-0 and the right-hander moving up 13 places to 10th overall in the list of T20I batsmen after scoring 197 from three innings while being dismissed just once. Tim Robinson has moved up 58 places to 22nd in the list of T20I batsmen after his century in the first match against the Australians, and Bangladesh’s Saif Hassan (up 17 places to 18th) is also making ground following an unbeaten half-century in the final match of the series against Afghanistan.
Afghanistan spinner Rashid Khan has been in good form this series and has made great progress in the T20I bowlers’ rankings, moving up six places to second overall behind his Indian counterpart Varun Chakravarthy. Teammates Noor Ahmad (up eight places to 17th) and Mujeeb Ur Rahman (up six places to 23rd) have also improved, while Australian veteran Josh Hazlewood has also moved up to 10th. He moved up to 13th after three scalps against New Zealand.
