Vice President JD Vance was heckled for 10 minutes at the Turning Point USA event held at the University of Georgia on Tuesday (April 15) before criticizing Pope Leo. Openly defending US action in the Middle East and comparing the military’s action to action during the Second World War, Mr Vance asked: “How can you say that God is never on the side of those who wield the sword?

“Was God on the side of the Americans who liberated France from the Nazis? Was God on the side of the Americans who liberated the Holocaust camps? … I think the answer is absolutely yes.” Meanwhile, someone in the audience shouted, “Jesus does not support genocide!” He is interrupted by shouting.

The US vice president responded by saying he agreed with the scammer: “I agree. Jesus Christ certainly does not support genocide.” Minutes later someone shouted: “You’re killing children! You’re bombing children!” he says.

Once again expressing his sympathy for this fraudster, he said: “I am aware that young voters do not like our policy in the Middle East. I understand.”

Mr. Vance, a Catholic, has turned his attention to Pope Leo amid Donald Trump’s ongoing feud with the Church leader. He oddly suggested that the Holy Father stay his own way and “be careful” when it comes to discussing religion.

He said: “I think it is very, very important that the Pope be careful when he talks about matters of theology.”

The Vice President reiterated this point in an interview with Fox News, urging the Pope to “deal with what’s going on” in the Church.

He said: “It would be best for the Vatican to stick to the moral issues, to stick to the issues of what’s going on in the Catholic church, and to let the president of the United States dictate American public policy.”

He wrote on Truth Social: “Can someone please tell Pope Leo that Iran has killed at least 42,000 innocent, completely unarmed protesters in the last two months and that it is completely unacceptable for Iran to have a Nuclear Bomb?

“Thank you for your interest in this matter. AMERICA IS BACK!!! President DONALD J. TRUMP.”
