JD Vance reportedly set to host briefings during Leavitt’s maternity leave

The White House’s purported plan to replace press secretary Karoline Leavitt as a guest host while she is on maternity leave was unveiled Friday, according to a new report.

Dasha Burns, Politico’s White House bureau chief reported on social media He said Leavitt will give birth to her second child, a girl, next week and will return to the podium after maternity leave, but “it’s unclear exactly how many weeks it will take.”

“No one will officially replace Leavitt during his leave — but the communications shop plans to have some familiar faces at the podium to brief the press, including Vice President J.D. Vance, Cabinet officials and even Trump himself,” Burns added.

The White House confirmed the report to Fox News Digital.

The White House has been experiencing a baby boom in recent months.

At least four women with close ties to the White House are pregnant, including second lady Leavitt Usha VanceAnd Katie MillerShe is married to White House deputy chief of staff Stephen Miller.

The Vances announced in January that they were expecting their fourth child in July. The couple has three children: Ewan, Vivek and Mirabel.
