Jesy Nelson’s sister lashes out at Perrie Edwards and warns ‘there is so much more to be said’ after she revealed she’d cut ‘difficult’ Little Mix bandmate out of her life

Jesy Nelson’s sister has hit back after Perrie Edwards branded her former Little Mix bandmate ‘difficult’ in a new interview.

Perrie has revealed she has completely cut ‘difficult’ Jesy Nelson out of her life while addressing the Little Mix row in a new interview published on Wednesday.

The singer accused her former bandmate of failing to take responsibility for her actions in the final months of her time in the girl group and said she realized she ‘didn’t have the capacity for someone like that in my life anymore’ after watching Jesy’s documentary last year.

Jesy has yet to respond to Perrie’s comments, but her older sister Jade Nelson posted a lengthy statement on Instagram on Wednesday, telling her followers that Jesy had been ‘going through hell and back for years’.

Jade said she spoke out because she was ‘tired of the lies and accusations’ about her brother.

He wrote: ‘People say be the bigger person in life, stay quiet, but sometimes it actually doesn’t help at all.’

‘For years I watched my sister go through hell and back, and very few people will ever understand what it’s like to be tortured, bullied and humiliated because of the way you look.’

‘It’s really easy to just ignore it, but you never know how it’s going to affect them until you’re in that situation yourself.’

Jade stated that her sister tried to take her own life twice while struggling with her mental health. Jesy previously revealed how she first tackled back in 2013; The second attempt in 2020 took place days before he left Little Mix.

‘I guess when you try to end your life not once but twice it shows the dark place you must be in and YES it has happened many times with a lack of support,’ Jade wrote.

‘As for not taking responsibility, that’s all she actually did, she’s fully aware that she’s working hard, she’s fully aware that it’s hard to cope but if there’s another person struggling with a breakup, anxiety, life despite all that, she was there! Isn’t that what you do as a friend or if you love someone?’

‘So yes, we can learn a lot from our therapists, but can a therapist tell you that you can only hold someone so many times? ‘It’s okay to talk about it in interviews and songs, but it’s funny that when he finally tells the truth, people don’t like it.’

‘It’s always shocking when someone finally stands up for themselves, maybe that’s why we get angry and swear in disbelief.’

Jade concluded her statement by telling fans: ‘There’s always so much more someone can say.’

Jesy left Little Mix in December 2020 after nine years in the band, and said at the time that the pressure had taken a toll on her mental health.

She added: ‘There were reasons for these moments but you can only hold someone so many times before you start to lose your own sanity.’

Perrie felt Jesy’s comments misrepresented her after the star said she did not receive support for her mental health struggles while in the group.

Jesy said she felt very lonely and her recent phone calls were strange and made her feel like she was talking to a group of strangers.

“Don’t blame it on me and don’t make me out to be someone I’m not, yeah I’m not perfect and I might not have been there enough or I think I could have done better,” Perrie responded.

‘But I thought what I was doing was enough, I thought I’d tried everything and then I sat there and discussed it publicly in later interviews and you said ‘I wasn’t supported’, you know what I’m saying? ‘You were, so take some responsibility.’

When host Jamie asked if there was a chance they could be in each other’s lives again, Perrie denied the possibility.

‘If I’m being completely transparent, a part of me wanted this until the documentary, but then a part of me pulled back again.

‘I’m not a scary person, I don’t have a bad bone in my body, but I could cut you. That’s how I can cut you out of my life, if you upset me and hurt me irreversibly.

‘I don’t have the capacity for someone like that in my life anymore, and it may make me sound like a jerk, but I don’t have the energy for that, and as much as I’ve always loved him, I don’t think I can hack that energy in my own space.’

Perrie added that Jesy was devastated to learn her twin daughters had been diagnosed with Spinal Muscular Atrophy Type 1, a muscle-wasting disease.

He said: ‘We’ll always have this weird connection. And it broke my heart to see Jesy go through this.’

‘Because you wouldn’t wish this on anyone. Literally wild. Even though we have our problems, I guess I don’t want to see him go through this.’
