Jacobs was booked into the Brown County Jail on May 26 following police’s response to a domestic disturbance complaint.

The rest of the Pro Bowl tackle faces five charges, including felony strangulation and suffocation, as well as misdemeanor counts of battery, criminal damage to property, disorderly conduct and intimidating a victim.

Jacobs was released from custody on May 27 and has since returned to the field for OTAs; Meanwhile, the District Attorney’s Office is reviewing the evidence before making a formal charging decision.

Love acknowledged that there are still many unknowns about the situation as the legal process continues.

“But like I said, we’re going to let this play out.

“When you hear something like this there’s a lot of uncertainty about what could happen. But we’ll see, we’ll let it play out and we’ll go from there.”

While the organization has remained largely silent publicly, Love said discussions are taking place internally.

“Yes, we talked inside,” Love said. “Everyone knows what the situation is there. We talked, but of course the details, everyone is keeping it secret at the moment, out of respect for the situation and of course all the legal issues that will arise.”

Despite the uncertainty, Love said Jacobs was business as usual on the practice field with his teammates.

“But it’s great to have Josh here with us, to be able to work with us and get back to work,” he added. “But yeah, everyone waits and lets it progress on its own.”
