Josh Allen is one of the most recognized players in the NFL today, especially in the Buffalo community.

No matter how young or old you are in Western New York, you know Allen when you see him.

It’s a prime example of the love and respect Allen received as the Bills’ MVP quarterback visited a school full of kids waiting to see their favorite player Wednesday.

The Bills’ social media team showed the moment Allen surprised the kids at recess.

“Hello guys!” Allen shouted over the fence.

“It’s Josh Allen!” The children screamed as they ran towards the fence next to the older Allen. Some of the taller students managed to jump out to high-five Allen, but everyone else had a chance to meet the quarterback.

“Yes, I’m Josh Allen. This is me!” he said and high-fived all the kids on the grass field he visited.

Many said, “You are my favorite football player.”

Allen quickly jumped into a classic game with the kids: “I think of a number between 1 and 100,” and the kids quickly started yelling. Allen was thinking about his No. 17 jersey, which several kids were wearing on the sunny day.

One of the kids finally called out 17, and the group went wild when Allen confirmed it was his number.

Although Allen has always been an influencer in the Buffalo community, he recently became a father with his wife, actress and singer Hailee Steinfeld.

Steinfeld gave birth to their baby girl last month, and Allen noted that he’s already feeling the effects of fatherhood on a daily basis.

“I definitely think it changes the mindset a little bit. I’m very excited,” he said via the team’s website. “I think this will be the best version of myself in every aspect, in my professional career and my personal life. … ‘I want to win’ will never change. ‘Why I want to do this’ hasn’t changed.”

Allen added that he wanted to show his family, especially his daughter, how hard you have to work to achieve your dreams and goals.

Allen’s work ethic has never been questioned since the Bills drafted him in the first round out of Wyoming in 2018. But despite Allen’s greatness and Buffalo’s success, a trip to the Super Bowl has remained out of reach since he entered the league.

But Allen’s spirit never wavered, and no matter what happened on the field, he always put his heart in his pocket at events like these with the kids.

Children will always remember the day they met their favorite actor.
