Veteran Spanish singer Julio Iglesias is accused of sexually assaulting and slapping two of his former employees at their Caribbean mansion.

This comes after Spanish prosecutors confirmed they were investigating a formal complaint against the singer.

The women claimed they were targeted while working as live-in employees of the award-winning artist, who is also the father of singer Enrique Iglesias.

In a lengthy report published by Spanish news outlet elDiario on Tuesday, the duo The women shared the events under the pseudonyms Laura and Rebeca.

They allege that the sexual abuse occurred in 2021, when Iglesias was 77, at his mansions in the Dominican Republic resort town of Punta Cana and Lyford Cay in the Bahamas.

The youngest of the two women who accused him was 22 at the time.

A prosecution spokesperson from Spain’s National Court said: ‘Given the news published today regarding Julio Iglesias and the attention shown by the media, I would like to inform you that a complaint was lodged with the Audiencia Nacional Prosecutor’s Office on 5 January 2026.

‘As you know, confidential pre-criminal investigation procedures have been initiated.

‘Given the nature of the allegations and reiterating the confidential (confidential) nature of the Public Prosecution Service’s investigation and in the interest of protecting the alleged victims, it is inappropriate to provide further information.’

The women told elDiario that they were asked for photos of their faces and full bodies by the recruiter, and were subjected to candid questions from Iglesias shortly after they arrived at the mansion.

The woman, who at first claimed she was ‘agreeable’ but then began to humiliate her, said Iglesias ordered her to show him her breasts about two weeks after starting the job after asking if they were natural or ‘surgically enhanced’.

Madrid Community president Isabel Diaz Ayuso took to X on Tuesday morning to defend the singer, writing: ‘The raped and assaulted women are in Iran with the complicit silence of the far left.’

‘Madrid Community will never contribute to the discrediting of artists, even the most universal singer Julio Iglesias.’
