Marc Guehi: Manchester City agree deal with Crystal Palace for England centre-back

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola was asked about the club’s interest in Guehi at Friday’s press conference, but the Spaniard dismissed the question by saying “he has nothing to say”.

Meanwhile, Palace boss Oliver Glasner said: “I understand the deal for Marc is in the final stages.” The Austrian player then added that Guehi will not be in the squad to face Sunderland in the Premier League on Saturday.

Earlier this month, Glasner said the Eagles would deal Guehi in January if the asking price is met.

Guehi led Palace to victory in the FA Cup final against City in May and also led them to a Community Shield win over Liverpool earlier this season.

He looked set to join Arne Slot’s side on September 1, but the £35 million deal fell through when Guehi began a medical in the final hours of transfer deadline day.
