King Charles and Queen Camilla are wrapping up their four-day state visit to the United States with a jam-packed day today. The king will mark the 250th anniversary of US independence during his first trip to the US as monarch. It came hours after Mr Trump’s comments that the King “agreed with him” on the war in Iran sparked a backlash.

Charles and Camilla will travel to Virginia to join residents at a “block party” with food and entertainment to celebrate America, the creation of the country’s Founding Fathers, whom Charles described in his Congressional speech as “brave and creative rebels with a cause.”

At one of America’s national parks, the King will meet with one of the region’s indigenous communities and people involved in conservation initiatives and efforts to preserve the natural environment.

Separately, the Queen will visit a farm to highlight the work of America’s horseracing industry and long-term links with the sport in the UK.
