Pro -Palestinian demonstrators were asked to reconsider today’s event by two people who were killed in a terrorist attack in a synagogue.
Sir Keir Starmer called the groups behind the show to “respect the grief of the British Jews”. He wrote in Jewish Chronicle and added: “This is a moment of age. It is not time to stop the tension and cause more pain.”
The Great Manchester police Sir Sir Stephen Watson’s prime minister called on the protest to “think if it’s really the right time”.
Sir Mark Rowley, the Met Police Commissioner, added: ız At a time when we want to distribute every existing officer to ensure the safety of these communities, instead of supporting a terrorist organization, more than 1,000 people in Trafalgar Square to support a terrorist organization.
“Continuing within a few hours after the terrible terrorist murder of British Jews on Thursday, when the communities are the most frightening, they will probably create more tension and some may be deprived of sensitivity.”
