Kishan, Bandi Slam Revanth for Women’s Reservation Bill Failure

Hyderabad: Telangana BJP on Wednesday launched a strong attack on Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and the Congress, blaming them for the defeat of the women’s reservation bill in Parliament earlier this month. The harsh attacks came at the BJP’s ‘Mahila Agraha Yatra’ led by Union ministers G. Kishan Reddy and Bandi Sanjay Kumar along with state BJP president N. Ramchander Rao and party MPs DK Aruna, Dr K. Laxman and Etala Rajendar.
Speaking at Dharna Chowk near Indira Park, where the protest march ended, Kishan Reddy said the Congress should be buried forever for the injustice it inflicted on women by not allowing the bill to be passed. Taking out Revanth Reddy, Kishan Reddy said that the Prime Minister “burst crackers and celebrated the defeat of 70 crore women in the country” when the bill was not passed in Parliament.
“Revanth should explain what he was celebrating. Was he celebrating the usurpation of rights of 70 crore women in India? Was it for Congress to erect an iron wall for women’s reservation?” he asked. Revanth Reddy should also explain why he opposes the restriction, where the Modi government is trying to ensure that no injustice is done to south Indian states due to the process. The Center planned to ensure that the restriction would not harm South India due to population-related issues. Kishan Reddy said that both Congress and BRS have done great injustice to South India in this regard.
Sanjay said that although the women’s reservation bill remains pending for now, the BJP government will ensure that it is passed later. “Defeat was Modi stepping back, like a tiger does right before it starts attacking,” he said.
Targeting Revanth Reddy for opposing the bill, Sanjay said that the Chief Minister, who has not kept even a single promise made to women in the state, is leading the effort to frustrate the bill. “Revanth cheated on women here and across the country. He should take the blame for women not being able to get political reservations in the country,” he said.
