Kodavatancha Temple Re-consecrated in Grand Ceremony

-Warangal: The re-consecration (Punah Pratishtapana) of presiding deity Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy was performed with Vedic rituals at Kodavatancha village in Regonda mandal of Jayashankar Bhupalpally district on Saturday.

The ceremony was performed by Tridandi Srimannarayana Ramanuja Chinna Jeeyar Swamy in the presence of Speaker Gaddam Prasad Kumar and local MLA Gandra Satyanarayana Rao. The rituals included Samprokshana, Kumbhabhishekam and Maha Purnahuti performed by Vedic scholars at Yagasala.

Thousands of devotees participated in the programme. The temple, known for traditions such as devotees presenting decorated chariots to fulfill their vows, witnessed heavy foot traffic with police making security arrangements for darshan.

The ritual took place ahead of the annual Jatara Brahmotsavams scheduled from February 26 to March 5, officials said.

Addressing the meeting, the Speaker said divine blessings were in favor of those working for public welfare and announced that the state government had sanctioned Rs 12.15 crore for reconstruction and development of the temple. In response to Rao’s request, MLA Gandra Satyanarayana said efforts would be made to provide additional funds to improve pilgrim amenities and develop the shrine on the Yadadri line.

MLA Satyanarayana Rao said temples serve as centers of spiritual and social harmony and termed the reconsecration as important for the region.

District collector Rahul Sharma, Sankeerth superintendent of police, additional collector (Local Bodies) Vijayalaxmi, temple president Sampath Rao and bailiff Mahesh were present.
