Labour MSP Colin Smyth charged over indecent images

Scottish work MSP Colin Smyth was arrested and accused of having inappropriate images.

The 52 -year -old child, who has been representing Southern Scotland since 2016, was arrested in a property in Dumfries early this month.

Smyth has been suspended by the Scottish Labor Party and is now listed independently on the Parliament website.

He is expected to appear at the Dumfries Sheriff Court at a later date.

Smyth recently played a few pre -prescription roles in April 2023 and previously served as Secretary General of the Scottish Labor Party.

The phone was answered, but the BBC Scotland News died when he tried to contact him.

A Worker Spokesperson said: “Whip was removed from Colin Smyth MSP, waiting for an investigation.

He continued: “We can not comment more on this issue while the investigation continues.”

When the police recognized the investigation, the party seems to have suspended Smyth.
