Lammy announces exposure of 18 Russian spies after UK cyber-attacks | Foreign policy

Foreign Minister David Lammy said that Britain hacked one of the victims of Salisbury poisoning 18 Russian spy and units responsible for cyber attacks in England.

Lammy, who announced individual sanctions, said that Russia aims to media, telecom providers, political and democratic institutions and energy infrastructure in England in recent years.

In addition, two of the spies, in 2018 with Novichok in Salisbury with Novichok poisoning, former spy Sergei Skripal’s daughter Yulia Skripal used by the X-Agent spyware software was involved in planting.

Skripals survived the attack on the British territory, but a woman, Dawn Sturgess was killed after poisoning a poison in a bottle of perfume.

X-Agent is believed to be linked to Hacking Group Fants Bear, which has ties with the Gru Military Intelligence Unit of Russia, which was shot with sanctions.

The government said that some agents from the unit were targeting the bombing of the Mariupol Theater in Ukraine, where hundreds of civilians, including children, were killed, and wider cyber operations that support Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Lammy said Britain revealed Russian spies and pirates to increase security.

“Gru Spies is carrying out a campaign to destabilize Europe, weaken Ukraine’s sovereignty and threaten the safety of British citizens,” he said.

“The Kremlin must be undoubtedly. We see what they are trying to do in the shadows and we will not tolerate it. So we take a stable action against Russian spies.

“Putin’s hybrid threats and aggression will never disrupt our determination. Britain and our allies’ safety of Ukraine and Europe.”

Names of alleged spies published online. Sanctions typically include asset ice cream and travel bans.

The government said that in West Africa, disinformation about health in Africa, which is responsible for pressure, imposed sanctions on an organization called African Initiative.

The decision to target spies with sanctions is the increase in the strategy of England, which has previously focused on politicians, financial institutions and military leaders.

In May, the UK announced that more sanctions will be targeted by the presence of further sanctions, “Russia’s military machine, supporting energy exports and information war, and financial institutions that help Putin to invade Ukraine”.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said: “Putin did not fulfill the whole, unconditional ceasefire that President Trump wanted and approved by President Zelenskyy two months ago.”

In June, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs estimated that sanctions against Russia deprived the Russian state at least $ 450 billion (£ 340 billion) in the war funds between February 2022 and June 2025.

Since his time he took office last year, Lammy opened a difficult attitude towards Russia, arguing that the post -Cold War period was “good and really finished” and that keeping the British people safe means to stand against the “Putin’s mafia state”.
