Law commission chief calls for Indianisation of legal system

National Law Commission chairman Dinesh Maheshwari called for Indianization of the legal system. He said that it is high time to overhaul the justice delivery system in India, making the entire system specific to our Bharatiya or civilization. Mr. Maheshwari was delivering a lecture on ‘Indian Information System and Constitution’ at Lok Bhavan on Saturday.

So does the concept of justice in our Constitution; it is neither rigid nor mechanical, but resonates with constitutional morality and demands that the law remain responsive to the changing needs of society,” he said.

He said that Indian civilization has a permanent character, capable of withstanding all kinds of attacks. India’s strength lay not in its unity but in its fundamental diversity capable of absorbing, assimilating and assimilating the values ​​of tolerance, acceptance and non-violence.
