Travis Kelce praises KC spot while Jason disses Midwest tacos
KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Travis and Jason Kelce disagree on the best place to find tacos. This week’s discussion “New Heights” podcast It included some disparaging remarks from Jason about Kansas City’s Mexican cuisine and a KC taqueria that has doubled its social media following.
“I’m not going to Kansas City for tacos,” Jason said.
“From where?” Travis replied to this.
“Because it’s the Midwest. I’ll go to Los Angeles for tacos, I’ll go to Miami for tacos,” Jason explained.

Although Kelce’s older brother doesn’t believe it, the future Chiefs Hall of Famer tight end called out one of the KC taco favorites on Wednesday’s New Heights podcast.
“My phone was buzzing with ‘did you see the podcast,'” Rudy Garcia Jr., owner of Rudy’s Tenampa Taqueria, said.
“Rudy’s? I’m not going to a taco place called Rudy’s,” Jason Kelce shouted.
Rudy’s has called Westport home for more than 30 years and now has a location in Lenexa.
“The skeptical people that come in, all you have to do is take one bite and you’re hooked,” Garcia said of the taqueria’s name, which he shares with his father, the Rudy’s founder.
Rudy Sr. said that was the case when Travis started stopping by a decade ago and almost always ordered deep-fried chicken tacos. Thursday New Heights followers did the same.
“I’m a big 92 percent participant, I love Travis and Jason, the love of the podcast and what they do for the community,” said first-time customer Nate Hetmanek.

“If he comes, I’d be happy for him to come here and eat some really good Mexican food,” Rudy Garcia Sr. said.
Dasgupta added that Taco Trail offers private bus tours in case Jason Kelce wants to make sure he has an informed opinion on the quality of Kansas City tacos.
