A large police cordon has been set up in Leicester city center tonight following shocking reports of the brutal stabbing, with dozens of officers and search dogs swarming to the scene.

Horrified residents reported hearing the chilling screams of “armed police” during the terrifying events that took place just hours earlier.

Leicestershire Police are yet to confirm the exact circumstances of what locals claim was a violent knife attack.

Streets around Alexander Street in the city center are now completely blocked off by a massive police cordon, which was significantly expanded several hours after the stabbing, which was reported at around 10.30pm.
