Police, paramedics and firefighters rushed to the scene of the plane crash in a small suburban town. The plane crashed in the town of Littleborough, less than 40 minutes’ drive from Manchester. The incident, believed to have occurred near Lake Hollingworth and Blackstone Edge, triggered a major emergency response. Manchester Police made the first statement after the plane, believed to be a light aircraft, crashed.

Read as reported by MEN: “Emergency services are responding to reports of a light aircraft crash in the Littleborough area. We are currently there to establish all circumstances and assess any possible casualties. A crime scene remains in place whilst emergency workers carry out their investigations and people are asked to avoid the area whilst this work is carried out.”
