Isn’t this a bit strange? The showcase LIV Golf event, which South Australian Premier Peter Malinauskas enthusiastically supported in the face of sustained criticism over its reputational, financial and civic costs, is likely to face extinction.

News of its imminent demise is all the more embarrassing given that it comes in the same week that the Malinauskas government began the controversial $45 million LIV-focused redevelopment of the North Adelaide Golf Course, which it seized without notice from its previous long-term owner, the Adelaide City Council.
