“As this season continues, the defeats we suffered in the final moments are not a complete surprise.”
Speaking to BBC Radio 5 Live, Slot added: “It is hugely disappointing that this has happened at the last minute.
“How many times does this have to happen? And today it happened again. This time it wasn’t a total surprise; the last 15-20 minutes of the game were the most even part of the game.”
What about the booing from the Anfield faithful?
Both Slot and Szoboszlai said they understood this, but the midfielder added that they had to “support us at a difficult time” following a 1-0 draw at home to Galatasaray in the Champions League last 16 second leg on Wednesday.
“I’m 100% sure they’ll be supportive again from the start if they show up on Wednesday, but I think it’s completely normal for them to be disappointed if the team doesn’t perform to the standards they’re used to,” Slot added.
“Arne Slot needs to have a look at himself,” former Republic of Ireland striker Clinton Morrison said on BBC Radio 5 Live.
“If Liverpool play like this in midweek they will be eliminated from the Champions League.”
