Local tea shop in Providence helped officials track down suspect in Brown University mass shooting
A local tea shop in Providence helped police track down a suspect overnight following the mass shooting at Brown University.
Yesterday, A masked gunman opened fire Two people were killed and nine others were injured among students taking their final exams at the engineering building around 4 p.m.
Police shared that the suspect, wearing all black and fleeing on foot shortly after the shooting, was observed late last night.
A Providence business called Providence, located on 406 Brook Street, just near where the incident occurred, shared in a statement on Facebook that the homeowners, David Baskin and his family, stayed up throughout the night and reviewed security cameras with the FBI and saw the person walking in the neighborhood.
“We want to sincerely thank David and his family for acting quickly, staying vigilant, and looking out for this community,” the statement said.
Surrounding businesses, including Ceremony Stream, will be closed today.
