Love Island All Stars forced to postpone series due to health and safety amid South Africa wildfires – just days ahead of launch

ITV has officially confirmed that Love Island All Stars has been forced to postpone the upcoming series due to bushfires in South Africa.

Just days before Monday’s launch, the first episode was canceled after bushfires caused roads to be closed near the villa.

Filming for the new series, which features returning contestants looking for a new chance at love, was due to begin on Saturday.

A statement from ITV included the following: ‘In addition to the evacuation under construction due to ongoing bushfires in the area, our assessment of the location has concluded that filming must be postponed.

‘Health and safety is our top priority and will always come first, which is why the broadcast of Love Island: All Stars will be postponed until a date to be confirmed.’

It was revealed early on Saturday that the villa had been evacuated as a precaution and that filming of the launch episode had to be postponed.

Producers were said to be ‘struggling’ to ensure the launch episode went off smoothly, but it has been confirmed that Monday’s episode has been cancelled.

An ITV spokesperson confirmed to the Daily Mail: ‘Due to ongoing wildfire in the area, we have evacuated the Love Island production site as a precaution.’

Numerous bushfires are burning in the Western and Eastern Cape due to high temperatures, changing winds and prolonged dry conditions.

While residents of Zwartenbosch, Oyster Bay Road, Kromme River and Riverside areas in the Eastern Cape were evacuated, fires also broke out in Mossel Bay in the Western Cape.

The Love Island villa is located on the Ludus Magnus Estate in the Western Cape, about an hour from Cape Town.

It comes after the Daily Mail exclusively revealed the line-up, which includes two former winners, two nepo babes and one finalist still reeling from a bitter split from her ex.

Girls competing include Whitney Adebayo (28), Millie Court (29), Belle Hassan (27), Helena Ford (29), Jess Harding (25) and Leanne Amaning (28).

They will need to be paired with Ciaran Davies (23), Jack Keating (26), Sean Stone (26), Tommy Bradley (22), Charlie Frederick (31) or Shaq Muhammad (27).
