Trump might meet with Putin as soon as next week

According to media reports, US President Donald Trump plans to face face -to -face with Russian President Vladimir Putin at an early date next week.
Trump reported that the New York Times plans to meet with Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy, referring to two sources.
The newspaper added that the plans were announced in a call with European leaders on Wednesday.
The White House did not respond immediately to the report, but on Wednesday, Trump admitted that the US ambassador Steve Witkoff was talking to European leaders after the “extremely productive” meeting in Russia in Russia.
The meeting arrived two days before a deadline set by Trump for Russia to accept peace in Ukraine or to face new sanctions.
Trump was increasingly disappointed from Putin about the lack of progress towards peace, and threatened to apply heavy tariffs to countries that bought Russian exports.
A White House official said that although the meeting went well and Moscow is willing to continue to interact with the United States, Trump is still expected to be implemented on Friday.
No details were achieved.
“Private Ambassador Steve Witkoff held a highly productive meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin. Great progress has been made!” Trump said in a article on real Social.
“Everyone acknowledges that this war should end and we will work for it in the coming days and weeks.”
A Kremlin assistant said that Witkoff had previously had “useful and constructive” talks with Putin on Wednesday.
The duo met for about three hours in the last -minute post to look for a breakthrough in Russia’s 3.5 -year war, which began with the full -scale Ukrainian invasion.
Yuri Ushakov, Assistant of the Kremlin Foreign Policy, said that the two sides have changed “signals” on the Ukrainian issue and discussed the possibility of developing strategic cooperation between Moscow and Washington, but refused to give more details to Witkoff Trump until they were repaired.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy said that he believes that the pressure on Russia is working and that Moscow is now more appropriate for the ceasefire.
Zelenskiy, “Russia is now more prone to a ceasefire. The pressure on them works. But the real issue is that they do not deceive us in details in the US or the United States.” He said.
Zelenskiy, who wrote separately on the social media platform, added that Witkoff had discussed Russia’s visit with Trump and reiterates Ukraine’s determination to defend a fair peace and self -defending.
“Ukraine will definitely maintain its independence. We all need a permanent and reliable peace. Russia should end the war that he began,” Zelenskiy said that European leaders participated in the call with Trump.
Trump took an important step towards punishing measures on Wednesday, when the new Delhi referred to Russian oil imports and applied 25 percent more tariffs from India for imports from India.
A similar order was not signed for China, which imports Russian oil.
The new measure increases the tariffs in some Indian goods to 50 percent – one of the most upright ones that any US trade partner has faced.
