SPECIAL: Callaway brings the America 250 to the golf course.
Callaway launches the limited-edition USA 250 collection, honoring the spirit, craftsmanship and performance that has defined the United States since 1776. Jacob Davidson, Callaway’s vice president of product strategy and category management, spoke to Fox News Digital about the process of creating the USA 250 collection.
Davidson said that the American-based golf company had previously made military-themed collections by connecting with veterans, and they wanted to continue this theme with America 250.

“As a US-based company, we thought it was really cool to do something that connected to veterans and the current military, to crossover between golf and military service with so many people playing the game, and then leaning into this year, we wanted to keep the theme of honoring the military,” Davidson said.
With America 250 coming up this year, this was a natural fit for a collection, Davidson said. Callaway worked on the collection for 15 months, paying great attention to the details of the clubs.
Patriotic details are at the center of Callaway’s assortment of precisely engineered drivers, putters, golf balls, wedges, headcovers and hats.
“I think what’s really cool is some of the details we’ve actually been able to do on the drive on this, a little call from the Chestnut Street address where the Declaration of Independence was signed,” Davidson said. “When you look at the head cover on the driver, it says ‘we the people’. There’s a lot of detail there. We worked with one of our partners, True Temper, on the shafts. They made a custom shaft in US colors. They added the eagle on the shaft that matches the one on the driver.”

Callaway even redesigned the Odyssey Jailbird putter as the “Free Bird” with the help of its legal team.
“We actually renamed the Jailbird putter the Free Bird. The Jailbird was an iconic putter for us. It’s one of our best models in the game this week at Augusta. It’s got a big personality, called the Jailbird, because of its stripes. There’s a Jailbird-like figure on each head cap,” Davidson said.
“And we actually took that and ran with it. We went to the legal team. We actually secured the name Free Bird. Ironically, it was open and it’s very hard to get names now. There’s a new Jailbird character on the front cover with a US bandana.”

Callaway’s USA 250 wedges feature color laser engraving for the first time; commemorative golf balls and a modern flying flag design pay tribute to the enduring American spirit.
“We really looked at every detail and said, ‘Hey, how can we make this special? How can we give the consumer a product that really showcases patriotism and craftsmanship and everything we’ve been able to do as a country in 250 years?'” Davidson said. we said. he said.
“Callaway is a US-based company, and I think that’s something we’re really proud of.”
