Madhya Pradesh Although Congress MLAs demanded its immediate implementation, the Assembly on Monday, April 27, 2026, passed a resolution to implement reservation for women after the restriction exercise.
Members of the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Opposition Congress engaged in an intense debate in a one-day special session convened after the defeat of the Constitution (131st Amendment) Bill, which sought to make delimitation a prerequisite for the implementation of reservation for women, in the Assembly earlier this month.
