In the M5, severe three -hour delays and 14.5 miles of queue were reported. The evening is due to the emergency road surface repairs between 19 (Portishead) and 18 (Bristol) intersections, where three of the four strips on the Avonmouth Bridge are closed to allow the work to be performed safely.

It is recommended that drivers expect significant delays and consider alternative ways as much as possible. National highways called for extra time for drivers’ travel, because the blockage is expected to continue throughout the day.
