‘Mamata Banerjee is a fighter politician, she is not someone who fears FIRs’: Sanjay Raut backs TMC chief
Speaking to the media, Raut said, “If this is how FIRs are filed against provocative speeches, why were FIRs not filed against people like Anurag Thakur for their provocative speeches during the Delhi elections?” he said.

The UBT MP also questioned the lack of action in these cases, claiming that such speeches were also made by BJP leaders in Uttar Pradesh.
Reiterating his support for the TMC chief, Raut added, “Mamata Banerjee is a warrior politician. You (BJP) want to corner her and finish her from every angle but we all stand with her. She is not a woman who is afraid of FIRs.”
Meanwhile, Kolkata Police has registered an FIR against Mamata Banerjee. The FIR was registered on June 7 under Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) Sections 196(1), 351(2) and 352 at Hare Street, Kolkata Central Division.
In his complaint, Tushar Kanti Das alleged that on March 9 this year, Mamata Banerjee made a “misleading speech aimed at inciting breach of peace, disturbing public peace, maintaining social harmony and threatening the democratic structure of the state”. The FIR comes at a time when Mamata Banerjee is facing political turbulence within her party after the election defeat, with a majority of the rebel MLAs considered “opposition” in the assembly and the dispute has reached the party level. the parliamentary party of the party.
Meanwhile, as MPs from three parties resigned from the Rajya Sabha, around 20 MPs decided to approach the Lok Sabha Speaker, claiming to be the “real TMC”. They also decided to look for separate seating arrangements.
Regarding the CID’s recent visit to Abhishek Banerjee’s residence, Majumdar emphasized that the investigation process was routine and independent.
