In May 2024, Angela’s mother, Fiona Fu, revealed that her daughter met the alleged murderer through Airbnb.

Speaking exclusively to the Daily Mail, Ms Fu, 63, said: ‘Angela was my only child and we were very close.

‘I was very saddened by his murder, I was completely devastated. He was very ambitious, all he wanted was to take care of me and eventually own his own hotel.

‘She invested a lot of time and money into this property and wanted to make a good financial return by renting it out on Airbnb and become a successful businesswoman. But tragically, he will no longer be able to realize his dream.’

Ms Fu, who lives in Hong Kong, explained that Angela is a dual Thai and Chinese-Hong Kong citizen who has been in London for the past ten years.

He didn’t own the Hyde Park property but was renting it to himself on a two-year lease and had been living there since January.

Angela was born in Ratchaburi, Thailand, but moved to Hong Kong at the age of one with her mother after her parents’ marriage ended. He went to boarding school in Wales and then studied at the University of the Arts London.

He worked for an IT company before deciding to take over his home in Hyde Park and start a small property management company.

After redecorating the house, she advertised her home on Airbnb, charging £600 per night for a room due to its prime location and proximity to some of the capital’s most famous attractions.

Angela shared the house with her boyfriend, 27-year-old Chris Zeng, and they stayed in the basement to ensure the tenants’ privacy.

He revealed that after traveling to Singapore, a few days before Angela’s body was found, Angela called him to say that a man had contacted her through Airbnb, wanted to rent the entire house for a month and was willing to pay £30,000.
